# Microsoft Entra ID and Shapes

Connect Entra for roster and domain join, and optionally Shapes for org structure.

Directory integrations power adoption vs headcount, manager routing, and (for Entra) optional **domain join** so work emails can auto-join Caliber.

{% tab title="Microsoft Entra ID" %}
**Auth (pick one):**

* **OAuth:** Microsoft Graph `User.Read.All` + `offline_access` (admin consent), or
* **App registration:** Tenant ID, Client ID, Client Secret with Application permission **User.Read.All** and admin consent.

**Who:** Entra / Microsoft 365 admin who can grant consent.

### Steps

1. Open **Settings → Integrations → Microsoft Entra ID**.
2. Complete OAuth or paste app registration credentials.
3. Optionally set **allowed email domains** for domain join (work domains only; never free-mail).

### What Caliber reads

Employee roster for adoption metrics and manager-based routing. Directory sync runs about every six hours (see [Data freshness](/connect-your-providers/data-freshness-and-sync-schedule.md)).

### What Caliber does not read

Mailbox contents or Teams chat.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Shapes" %}
**Auth:** Shapes admin **refresh token** (Caliber mints access tokens and rotates them on sync).\
**Who:** Shapes admin.

1. Open **Settings → Integrations → Shapes**.
2. Paste the admin refresh token.

**What Caliber reads:** Company org structure and headcount for adoption and reporting-tree scoping for team leads.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.trycaliber.ai/connect-your-providers/microsoft-entra-id-and-shapes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
